How To Change Your Email Password
Before changing your password, please make sure that your new password complies with minimal password requirements:
- Must be between 8 and 30 characters in length
- Must contain at least 1 lower case letter
- Must contain at least 1 capital letter
- Must contain at least 1 number
- Must contain at least 1 special character
- White space characters are not allowed
Note: The following are valid special characters [! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + } { " : ' ? / > . < ; ,]
All new passwords and password changes should adhere to these requirements. Weak passwords may be changed by the Administrator.
Webmail
Ipswitch/Progress
- Logon as usual to http://mail.midatlanticbb.com
- Click on the "Action" tab, and choose "Change Password".
- Fill in your current/old password, your new password, and retype your new password for confirmation.
- Click "Save"
Thunderbird
- Click the "Tools" menu.
- Select "Options".
- Click "Security" from the top panel.
- Click the "Passwords" tab.
- Click the "Saved Passwords" button.
- Select the user name whose password you wan to update, and then click "Remove".
- Next time when you click "Get Mail" in your Thunderbird, a window will pop up
asking for the password. You can enter your new password in the pop-up window and
use the Password Manager to remember the password.
Outlook
- Open Outlook and select "File > Account Settings".
- Click "Account Settings" again.
- Highlight the account for which you want to change the password.
- Click "Change" and enter your new password in the "Password" field.
- Click "Next > Finish".
Mac OS/X Mail
- Open "Mail". If you are prompted to type in your new password, do so and select "Remember password". If not, continue to follow the steps below.
- Click "Mail" then "Preferences".
- Click the "Accounts" tab. Select your account from the Accounts list. For Mac OS X 10-10.2 users, select Edit.
- Under "Account Information", delete the contents in the "Password" field and type in your new password.
- Exit out of the menu. If prompted, click "Save".
iOS
- Click the "Settings" icon on iOS.
- Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
- Select your e-mail account.
- Navigate to the password field.
- Enter your new password.
- Press "Done"
Android
- Tap the "Apps" icon.
- Find and tap "Settings".
- Tap "Accounts".
- Tap the appropriate account.
- Tape "Server Settings".
- Update your password and tap "OK".
BlackBerry
BlackBerry 4.5 to 5.0
- On the BlackBerry smartphone, click Email Settings.
(Note: Email Settings may be located in the Setup folder or on the home screen
of the BlackBerry smartphone)
- If required, type the current user name and password to log in.
- Select the BlackBerry email address and click Edit.
- Scroll and expand Login Information.
- Input the old, new, and confirmation password.
BlackBerry 6 or BlackBerry 7
- On the home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Setup.
- Select Email Accounts, then select Internet Mail Account.
- Select the required email account.
- From the pop-up menu select Edit.
- Expand Login Information.
- Confirm the current password in the Old Password field.
- Enter the new password in the New Password field.
- Enter the new password again in the Confirm New Password field.
- Press Menu and select Save
